Design Helloween Sweater with me!
📹 In this video, I’m taking you behind the scenes of the very beginning of a new sweater design and showing you how I turn an idea into a workable knitting project.
I’ll show you the yarn I chose for the sweater and talk about swatching and choosing the right gauge. I’ll also take measurements from an existing sweater to use as a reference when planning the fit and proportions of the new design.
You’ll see some of my initial sweater sketches and how the design starts to take shape. One of the most exciting parts is turning a hand-drawn Halloween cat illustration into a knitting chart — I’ll explain how I simplify the drawing and translate it into stitches and squares that can actually be knitted.
This is the very beginning of the process, and in the following videos I’ll continue sharing how the design develops, from planning and knitting to the finished Halloween sweater.
